Literary Arts Open Mic Showcases Award-Winning Poet
Tasha Halpert as November's Featured Artist at Tatnuck Bookseller

I.W.A Publishing Services Open Mike Night:  WESTBOROUGH, MA –The Literary Arts Open Mic (LOAM) is proud to showcase award-winning Poet Tasha Halpert as the Featured Artist for the Literary Arts Open Mic  July 14 2016 at 6:30 p.m. at the Tatnuck Bookseller, Gift Gallery & Café, 18 Lyman Street in the Westborough  Shopping Center off Route 9, Westborough MA, click here for directions.  Poet, mother, and grandmother Tasha Halpert writes weekly Internet columns as well as one for local newspapers and has produced and hosted a variety of local cable shows. Her poems and essays have appeared in numerous publications

She is Staff Poet for The Unicorn, part of GotPoetry.com, her book Heartwings: Love Notes f or a Joyous Life is available from the publisher, Galde Press, on Amazon.com and from her web site: www.heartwingslovenote.com. She is married to artist and writer Stephen Halpert and lives with him in North Grafton.  

Throughout her lifetime poet, mystic, teacher and author Tasha Halpert has been helping people attain a more peaceful, joyous and fulfilling life. She is and has been for many years, staff poet and storyteller for The Unicorn, published eight times a year by author, lecturer and herbalist Paul Beyerl. The Unicorn also serializes The Old Codger and the Whirlwind, a magical adventure for all ages, now concluding its fourth adventure. Tasha writes and distributes a weekly internet column: Heartwings Loves Notes. Her newspaper column Good Earthkeeping, is published weekly in The Grafton News. She is often published in the newsletter of Circles for Peace and contributes her monthly astrology column to their web site as well as distributing it on the Internet. As a contributor to numerous publications at various times, she has written as well as lectured widely on ways to inner peace, self healing, nutrition, herbal wisdom, meditation and spirituality. Her books include The Unconditional Love Book, Your Psychic Gifts, The Magical Kitchen Cookbook, all published by Healing Arts Press; Remembering God, a popular privately printed book of poems; Heartwings Love Notes for a Joyous Life, Galde Press; and her soon to be published Up To My Neck in Lemons, a compilation of poetry, recipes and essays, and Sadie's Journey, a story for all ages about the Afterlife. With her husband Stephen, she has lectured throughout the US as well as in Canada, Denmark and India. Together they founded the Grafton Center for Inner Peace where they taught meditation and self-actualization techniques until recently retiring. Tasha is the mother of five and grandmother of seven and has been married to her husband Stephen of thirty six years live in North Grafton, MA.

May 21st 2009Congratulations Tasha on winning The Love Foundation 2009 Art, Essay, and Poetry Invitational - Director's Award for Essay.

Here is an excerpt from The Love Foundation website front page on the 2009 Finalist Awards: "We are delighted to announce the Finalists for this year's Art, Essay and Poetry Invitational honoring Global Love Day May 1, 2009.  Once again we invited everyone to submit their original piece with the theme of "Love Begins With Me."  Each year we are encouraged with so many beautiful international expressions and must ultimately decide upon a few.  Director's Award this year for Art, Saadia Munir of Pakistan; Director's Award for Poetry, Ogbonnah Kingsley Francis of Nigeria; Director's Award for Essay, Tasha Halpert, US.  Honorable Mentions for Art, Shiza Khalid of Pakistan; Poetry, Antony Perera of Saudi Arabia; and Essay, Eva V. Mina of the Philippines.

June 4th 2008Congratulations Tasha on being a finalist on The Love Foundation 2008 Art, Essay, and Poetry Invitational.

Here is an excerpt from their website 2008 Finalist Awards: "We are delighted to announce the three Finalists and three Honorable Mentions for the fifth annual Art, Essay and Poetry Invitational honoring Global Love Day May 1, 2008.  Once again we invited "anyone young at heart" to submit their original piece with the theme of "Love Begins With Me."  Each year we are encouraged with so many beautiful international expressions and must ultimately decide upon a few.  Finalists include: Rosalina Sron (Canada) for Art, Jana Ostrom (USA) for Essay and Roseline Otobo (Nigeria) for Poetry.  Honorable Mentions go to Gregory Avila-Shah for Art, Tasha Halpert for Essay and Naila Francis for Poetry. You can view each on The Love Foundations website.
